what3words partners with EKCS for digital marketing campaign support

The innovative location technology what3words, recently partnered with EKCS to support their digital marketing campaign aimed at the general public in the UK, Germany, India, and Korea.

what3words is revolutionizing the way the world talks about location. It has divided the globe into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and assigned each one a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. For example, the square at the front gate of what3words London HQ can be found at ///filled.count.soap, and the entrance to EKCS’s office in Gurugram, India can be found at ///nursery.threaded.hits. The system works entirely offline and is being used on a daily basis by thousands of businesses across the globe in 51 languages.

EKCS worked with what3words to deliver bespoke messaging and imagery for retargeting adverts aimed at different audiences across Facebook and Google. The aim of the campaign was to encourage users to add their what3words address to the DPD app by using powerful visuals and strong messaging.

EKCS also carried out creative production for what3words advertising in Germany. As part of an ongoing B2C testing campaign, what3words wanted to test both animated and static advertising in the country. EKCS created a series of ad variants. This included turning static banners into animated ones to test their effectiveness.

An additional digital campaign spanned across four key markets: the UK, Germany, India, and Korea. EKCS created regional ad variations that included localized imagery, messaging, resizing, and translation.

“what3words is on a mission to create a global standard for communicating precise location. For our digital campaigns to be effective they must be built around the local insights and nuances of each market we work in. We've been impressed by the way EKCS interpreted our brief, helping us execute relevant campaigns across four key markets.”

Ivan Pols, Chief Creative Officer at what3words

“EKCS were delighted to partner with what3words on their recent digital marketing campaign. We enjoyed working on the campaigns and seeing them come to life in the four key markets identified for the campaign.”

Robert Berkeley, CEO, EKCS
